From the wildlife loop at Brigantine NWR. At this point, I had yet to ever see an Indigo Bunting, which I mistook this for. I was thrilled that I finally saw/photographed one, since Indigo Bunting was high on my "to-do" list. The bird was initially perched on a sign. The photo gods were smiling that day, as the bird flushed & alighted on a single phrag nearby. Of course, that sort of thing happens to me all the time...NOT. I remember at the time being a little bummed when I got home & discovered it was "only" a Blue Grosbeak... ;-) I have never gotten this close to one since...
