This was snapped during a dogfight between Oystercatchers & crows on Skeleton Island at Sandy Hook. This was amazing to me, as I had never expected the comical, lovable Oystercatcher to be such a fierce & able defender of it's nesting territory. This same bird later flew a sortie out over the bay to intercept a Turkey Vulture. The poor vulture was truly minding its own business, seeming to have neither the time nor the energy to deal with the agressor...
