We were tipped off on an amazing Spadefoot Toad love-fest going on in a temporarily flooded detention basin. It was barely off a major road. The toads were going off, even singing inside of drain pipes, which, if you've ever heard this species, is a sound reminiscent of the campfire scene in Blazing Saddles. No kidding. In any case, a completely magical experience. The Gray Treefrogs were also feeling amorous this evening. I guess this particular one looked pretty good to the Spadefoot. Any port in a storm, as they say...
